Blizzard!

No photos until I get back to hi-speed internet.  I am currently almost at 2 feet of snow.  It is hard to measure accurately because the snow is blowing and drifting. Even the ski resort is closed because we're in a state of emergency and no one is allowed on the roads.

I shoveled last night right before bed--had everything clear with about 6-8 inches of snow.  This morning, I had to force open my front door, half inch at a time until I could squeeze out.  The snow is past Dog's belly and is halfway to the top of his back.  Baby Dog looked like she was swimming in the snow.

For now we are all safe and sound.  Good neighbor Larry cleaned out my driveway and the lane with a front-end loader but at this rate, he may need to do it again once the snow finally stops.

No sign of the Carolina wrens this morning. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make it.  All the other birds are feeding like crazy.

I'll check in later if I get the chance.

OMG!! You got two feet of snow!!!

Guess what I got ?

NOTHING!!!!!!

Best of my knowledge, not a single snowflake fell!! I check last night before I went to bed and saw no flakes.

Right now it's sunny out with smattering of clouds rolling in. Also the wind is picking up too.

Hopefully you didn't lose power and stayed warm. Looking forward to seeing your pics

Carolyn…

I would have taken at least half that snow and wind off your hands. I wondered how you were doing. But if you're warm, comfortable, have food and water and heat, your blizzard can be an adventure instead of a trauma. Take lots of photos…and take care of yourself and your dogs.

Glad you made it ok and still have power. I have 31 inches of snow here and will begin digging out today. I'm not hopeful that a plow will come by anytime soon, the road is just too narrow. It is good to have friends like you do. I hope the wrens made it.

Cathy: Gee, it's hard to believe you didn't get anything from this storm. The forecast here was for 12-15 inches, and we ended up with more than 2ft. It seemed as though everyone was getting more than the forecast. Except you, I guess.

Griz: so far the storm on Saturday was a nice little adventure. I'm less sure about another foot of snow on top of what we already have.

Lynne: We are all safe and warm--at least for the next day or two. the dogs were hilarious. They've never seen a snow this deep.

Squirrel: Good luck with your 31 inches. Are you in line for the Tuesday storm, too?

Pablo: Good neighbors are the best! Especially when they are allowed to drive the snowcat.
