Snow! (I hope)

This may turn out to be the last non-snowy photo you see on Roundtop Ruminations for a while. If the forecast holds true, I will see 3-5 inches of snow tonight.  If the forecast is not true, I will end up with ice.  I'm trying to ignore that as a possibility.

I enjoy a fine, snowy winter.  To me that also means birds at my feeders, a warm fire, dogs and cats at my feet, a good book, warm sweaters and a mug of something hot and steaming or compfortably alcoholic, depending on the time of day.  I can do most of those things when there's no snow, but snow completes the picture for me.  A non-snowy winter is simply less fun and a lot less pretty, despite the clouds in this photo.  A pink sunrise is glorious whatever the season. But sunrises soon fade, replaced by lots of brown during the rest of the day.  Snow on the ground is something I can enjoy all day long.

This time of year, 3-5 inches of snow would normally not be something to crow about.  This year it's the best we can manage so far.  Therefore, I will.crow in anticipation.  And continue to ignore the possibility of ice.

Get the shovels ready. Stay warm. I have mix feelings about snow.

Sam,

At the moment (and of course the moments change quickly), the ice forecast is lessening and the snow totals are climbing. Rather that than the reverse. And it's a weekend, so I don't have to worry about early morning drives down off the mountain on poor roads.

Not to be a curmudgeon (or any more of one than I already am), but I hope the snow stays over your way and bypasses me completely. I was hoping for a blessed, snowless winter, but 1-3 inches are predicted here overnight.

What a gorgeous photo! I'm in the 3-8 range for the snow. Which is good, I so sick of the brown too. I might get little ice at times but like you, let's keep it all snow. just safer for those who have to travel.

Enjoy your day! I'm sure what I'm going do in the afternoon.

So did you get the snow?

Scott: I got the snow and not ice on Friday night, so I'm happy. Did you get snow (or ice?)

Cathy: I ended up with 5-6 inches of snow and no ice, so everything looks gorgeous right now. Did you get the 8 inches up your way?

Pablo: Yes! Yes! Yes! I got snow!

Carolyn: 2 inches of snow here. It'll probably be mostly gone by the end of today or tomorrow.

This photo just fills my eyes--which is the greatest compliment I can give.
