Still Green here

My local area is stuck in an unusual weather pattern—a day of storms, followed by a day of nice weather, followed by storms again. As a result, nothing every truly dries out. Today is the nice day. Tomorrow will be the rainy day again. This is better than all rain, but it means I can’t get to much of the outside work that needs done around the cabin. Soon I will need a machete. Actually, I should probably have one now.
I don’t have a machete, so the plants encroach on the cabin, currently preventing a walk around it. The bushes are sneaking their way across my driveway and scrape the sides of the car as I enter. I am tempted, in a fantasy kind of way, to let their long, thin branches close the gap and hide the cabin from view entirely. It would be my secret, a driveway hidden by the forest, so no one else would know one was there.

The driveway is not far from that now, and if it weren’t for the nice young woman who drives the FedEx truck and delivers packages to my front door, I might actually do it. No one else even attempts to deliver packages to my front door, and she easily manages the drive up the mountain and into my driveway. The last time FedEx used a substitute driver, he got stuck and one of Roundtop’s tractors had to pull him out.

Didn't we grumble about more-or-less the same thing last year—lots of rain and rampant vegetation? Except last year, at least around here, was cool-to-cold. This time around it's more the humid jungle. And hey, at least you have days of rain and day of sun; I have rain, clouds, a bit of sun, then more rain…all on the same day! And it has been that pattern forever!

What worries me is that it's going to get scalding hot about mid-July and stay that way through half of September.

Griz: I'm afraid you're going to be right about the weather being scalding hot until mid-September. it's very nearly scalding hot now and with the humidity, it's already pretty uncomfortable. I was actually thinking about buying an air conditioner yesterday. And I've never had an air conditioner.

Is there is anything that will make us happy? LOL!

To me it doesn't seem as rainy as it was last year. However not looking forward to the heat.

It's been really wet here too, matter of fact it is raining buckets now! I love it except I can't keep up with weeding the garden :(
