I don't know if it's true, but that explanation sounds to me as though it could be true.

Carolyn H.Carolyn Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03179182853082650546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15891819.post-4945633191905774732008-12-16T09:06:00.000-05:002008-12-16T09:06:00.000-05:00Here in Long Island, New York we had no acorns as ...Here in Long Island, New York we had no acorns as well this year. (the deer didn't eat them as we don't have any deer in my part of Long Island.) Last year however we had more acorns than I ever remember, it was like walking on marbles in the backyard!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15891819.post-18631336430258284042008-12-04T21:08:00.000-05:002008-12-04T21:08:00.000-05:00I didn't get that many acorns up here too but I wa...I didn't get that many acorns up here too but I was blaming the gypsy moths for that, since they love oak.

Sherry from the Q's Corner blog. There are hundreds, if not thousands of deer there. I think they only hire archers, as I remember something about not wanting shots fired on the battlefield ever again.

Carolyn H.Carolyn Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03179182853082650546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15891819.post-20078047121291161402008-12-04T15:24:00.000-05:002008-12-04T15:24:00.000-05:00well, we have an overpopulation of deer, so maybe ...well, we have an overpopulation of deer, so maybe they've eaten all the acorns?

Our local government is debating hiring "professionals" to "selectively reduce the deer population in town."

hmm. sounds like hunting in otherwise non-hunting areas to me.

we humans are always trying to control natural processes.Dana and Daisyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14006886855600007312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15891819.post-81551819667480018712008-12-04T13:16:00.000-05:002008-12-04T13:16:00.000-05:00Anon: That's a very interesting observation about...Anon: That's a very interesting observation about your mom's acorns. I've been reading about how MD, VA and at least my area of PA are all complaining about no acorns! I've also heard a few second or third-hand reports about no acorns in the midwest, too!

Carolyn H.Carolyn Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03179182853082650546noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15891819.post-16254126103158063882008-12-04T12:37:00.000-05:002008-12-04T12:37:00.000-05:00Very interesting. I wonder what's up with that?

GinaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
